Our Members SMME operators represent 96% of the operating companies that are members of the Association whilst established operators represent 4%. Currently SABOA represents approximately 70% or, 13 000 of the 19 000 buses and coaches used for public transport in South Africa.

The Association represents the interests of members rendering the following types of services: Commuter Services Long-Distance Services Contract Services Cross-Border Services (International) Learner Transport Services Shuttle Services Charter Services Scheduled Coach Services Tourist Transport Services

Membership Application Process & Administration Kindly take note of the following process and administration requirements for all membership applications: Membership Applications Process: • All applications are considered by the National Executive Committee and National Council of SABOA at its bi-monthly meetings. • The decision of the Committees regarding such applications are deemed final. • The result of the application will be conveyed to the applicant in writing. • New entrants into the industry (operators) may also apply for provisional membership if proof of application for a permit or operating license is submitted with the application forms.

How to Apply for Membership: 1. Complete the relevant membership application form. 2. Submit the completed application form and a signed copy of the SABOA Code of Conduct and SABOA Road Safety Code of Conduct, via email to saboa@saboa.co.za.
